The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Sheffield area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C+E) to join the team.
Hours: Night shifts across Monday to Sunday, start times between 14:00pm to 19:00pm (10.5-hour shifts on average).
Pay Rates (2 payment options):
- £14.60 per hour PAYE.
- £16.36 per hour Rolled Up pay.
- £26.20 night out allowance if tramping.
Location: Sheffield, S9.
Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent.
The role:
- Shifts run across Monday to Sunday, with start times between 14:00 PM and 19:00 PM.
- Palletised goods deliveries using mostly curtainsider vehicles, with occasional box or fridge work.
- Distance work with up to 5 drops per shift, delivering to a range of customers and clients.
- Forklift-assisted (fork on/fork off) deliveries and collections, with some self-tip sites.
- Occasional nights out for those who prefer longer runs - routes can be tailored to suit.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C+E).
- Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
- 1 year experience preferred but new passes will be considered as assessments are required.
- No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
- Successful completion of paid assessment and a 5-hour induction (payment made after your first completed shift).
- Full understanding of WTD legislation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A safety-first mindset.
