My client is currently seeking a Temporary Housing Options Officer to join a local authority in Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with experience in housing options, advice, and assessments to make a real difference in the community.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert housing advice and support to individuals and families in housing need.
  • Carry out comprehensive housing assessments in line with the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and relevant legislation.
  • Offer tailored housing solutions, including temporary accommodation options and referrals to partner agencies.
  • Develop and maintain case files, ensuring that all records are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Assist with homelessness prevention, securing accommodation, and liaising with landlords, housing providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings with clients and colleagues, providing updates on progress and offering professional advice on housing-related matters.


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Housing Options Officer or within a similar housing advisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, including homelessness and housing allocations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide sensitive advice and support to clients.
  • Ability to assess complex housing situations and provide practical solutions.
  • Experience working with local authorities or housing associations is desirable.
