GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join a vibrant school in Sheffield. This role offers the chance to engage students in subjects like History, Geography, and Religious Education, helping them develop a deep understanding of the world around them.

About the role:

As a Humanities Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons across a range of humanities subjects. Your goal will be to foster critical thinking, curiosity, and a love for learning. You will work with students of varying abilities, adapting your teaching to ensure that every student can succeed.



Responsibilities of the Humanities Teacher:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in History, Geography, and/or Religious Education.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of students with different abilities.
  • Encourage student participation and facilitate classroom discussions to develop critical thinking.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.

Requirements of the Humanities Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Humanities subjects, with experience teaching at the secondary school level.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
