We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Joiner to join our Day to Day Works trade team.

The successful person will be working for our Home Maintenance Team. We are a team of trade professionals providing responsive and planned repairs in the homes of our customers and stakeholders.

You will maintain the high standards expected of this team and deliver excellent customer care at all times while working to tight deadlines. This is a role working in an exciting, fast paced environment that is frequently subject to change.

We are a forward thinking, values driven housing association. This role is a mobile working role, using our maintenance depot in Ecclesfield, Sheffield as an operating base.

Job Description

  • Salary - starting salary of £28,618 per annum, pro rata, with the opportunity to progress to £30,939 per annum.
  • Additional Multi-skill bonus of £1192 per annum paid monthly for qualifying staff
  • Working hours - 37 hours per week Monday to Friday, plus On Call rota for a % of Evenings and Weekends.

More about the role:

We’re looking for a competent Joiner to join our Home Maintenance Team, which is a team of trade professionals that provide responsive and planned repair work for our customers.

Reporting to an HMT Multi-trade Supervisor the role will entail working alone or as part of a small team. You will be carrying out Joinery repairs duties in the homes of our customers, and buildings owned or maintained by SYHA. You will be part of a trade team delivering responsive repair and planned works to our customers and stakeholders while working to achieve high standards of workmanship and excellent customer care at all times.

Who you are:

The perfect person for the role will possess the following skills and qualities:

  • Have the experience and the ability to carry out Joinery works from 1st and 2nd fix joiner, kitchen fitting, installation of windows and doors.
  • Have the ability to solve problems and to make recommendations for repair and maintenance issues.
  • Be flexible and have the ability to carry out minor repairs requiring the skills of other trades, such as tiling, painting and minor plumbing repairs.
  • Have the ability to provide advice and guidance to clients/customers on maintenance and repair issues.
  • Have a full driving licence and be confident to drive vehicles in the HMT fleet. This includes vehicles up to long wheelbase transit size.
  • A working knowledge of digital work solutions including using online applications.
