- Lead the implementation of fire safety policies and strategies, ensuring compliance with the Business Code of Practice, relevant legislation, and British and European Standards.
- Identify and implement compliance improvements using industry best practices and cost-effective solutions to achieve both short- and long-term objectives.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of fire detection and suppression systems, ensuring all systems meet required safety standards.
- Manage and coordinate contractors to service and maintain fire systems across multiple sites.
- Provide expert advice on system condition, suitability, and upgrades, helping to plan for future obsolescence and system improvements.
- Oversee contracts for the supply, installation, and maintenance of fire safety equipment.
- Support decision-making and problem-solving by providing specialist advice on fire system maintenance and project delivery.
- Strong knowledge of fire detection and suppression systems, fire safety legislation, and compliance requirements.
- Relevant qualifications in fire safety and/or electrical disciplines.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the operation and maintenance of fire systems and associated equipment.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage contractors and motivate a diverse team.
- A proactive and driven approach, with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to gather, organize, and interpret data for logic-based problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills—clear, concise, and effective both verbally and in writing.
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and project management.
- A team-oriented mindset, with a flexible approach to work and the ability to meet deadlines.
