What you'll be doing

  • Leads and manages the effective and consistent implementation of all relevant OH standards in support of the overall wellbeing agenda
  • Drives performance of OH delivery, ensuring key performance indicators (KPI's) and service level agreements (SLA's) are complied with
  • Provide leadership, direction and develop the Technician, OHN & OHA roles to facilitate the delivery of the occupational health service
  • Ensures compliance of the health surveillance / screening program of all colleagues in accordance with risk assessment legislation
  • Responds to case management referrals, providing guidance to the business with regards rehabilitation programmes, work adaptation or redeployment so that appropriate action can be taken
  • Compiles and records occupational health statistical data to deliver statutory reporting requirements, using the information to inform performance as a minimum
  • Identifies health & wellbeing challenges/trends, providing advice on individual health issues and promoting health education in the workplace to maximise colleague understanding in keeping with the overall wellbeing agenda
  • Nurture a clinical supervision structure that fosters continual professional development for all OH team members
  • Ensures the safekeeping of all confidential medical records in accordance with the business and NMC guidelines
  • Works within the guidelines of processes / policies and procedures to embrace the continual development aims of a robust clinical audit program
  • Responds positively to changes in working practices to support continual improvements of service provision

What we're looking for

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent with a qualification in Occupational Health (essential)
  • Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) successfully revalidated every three years
  • Fully conversant with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant guidance and data protection legislation
  • In depth knowledge of health and safety at work and ability to demonstrate assertiveness in ensuring compliance
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Team player with strong desire for success
  • Able to work within a multidisciplinary team to support health and wellbeing initiatives both individually and on a broader level
  • Able to proactively support change, adjusting approach to meet changing requirements
  • Maintains a confident, controlled, and focused attitude in highly challenging situations
  • Must be trustworthy and discrete with a flexible approach and work style
  • Confident decision maker
  • Experienced in time management with excellent organisational skills and ability to use own initiative
  • Experience in contract management (new, transition and end of contract)
