Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our clients Residential Home team in the Dinnington area of Rotherham. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will work closely with other staff members to implement care plans and support the daily activities of our residents in a care home environment. Your leadership and supervisory skills will be essential in fostering a positive atmosphere for both residents and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Provide personal care and support to residents, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Supervise junior staff members and provide guidance to ensure high standards of care are maintained.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to promote a collaborative approach to care.
- Monitor the health and well-being of residents, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and participate in regular reviews of care plans.
- Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transportation.
- Administer Medication to residents
Experience
- Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is essential
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective care plans.
- Competent in Medication Administration and problem solving
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising staff in a care setting.
- Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and communicating effectively within the team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage positively with residents and their families.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when necessary.
Working Pattern
- You will be working as the night senior on a 42 hours a week contract
- Wk1 3 nights and wk2 4 nights on a rolling week by week pattern. For example, Wk1 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and Wk2 Mon, Tues, Sat and Sun.
