Key Responsibilities of SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA):

Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, including anxiety, depression, and other emotional difficulties.
Assist in the delivery of tailored lessons and activities to meet individual learning needs.
Help students develop their social, emotional, and academic skills through positive reinforcement and guidance.
Support students with their personal care needs as required, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Collaborate with the teacher of the class and other staff to monitor and track student progress.
Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence in students.

Requirements of SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA):

Previous experience in a similar role or working with students with SEMH needs.
Understanding of the national curriculum and strategies for supporting students with SEMH.
Ability to employ a range of teaching strategies that engage and inspire students, making complex concepts accessible and interesting.
Strong ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive relationships and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Passion for supporting students with SEMH and a commitment to their academic and personal development.
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies, with a commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
