About the School:

This Special School is a dynamic and caring secondary school and post-16 provision for students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and severe learning disabilities (SLD). 

The Role:
 As a key member of the teaching team, you will:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, person-centred educational programs tailored to the needs of students with PMLD and SLD.

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, and support staff, to ensure the best outcomes for students.

  • Foster a nurturing and safe classroom environment that encourages students to grow in confidence and independence.

  • Support students in their communication, mobility, personal care, and life skills development.

  • Collaborate with parents and carers to ensure a holistic approach to the student's education and well-being.

  • Engage in continuous professional development to keep up-to-date with best practices in special education.

About You:
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with complex learning needs. You will have:

  • Experience working with students with PMLD/SLD, ideally in a special school or similar setting.

  • A person-centred approach to teaching, with the ability to adapt lessons to meet individual student needs.
