Development and Cloud Support Engineer

Our client based in Sheffield is currently looking for a Development and Cloud Support Engineer. You will resolve escalated software, hardware, and cloud support requests. Provide high-level technical information to global engineering teams, identify project opportunities, and support the company's move into hybrid and cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage technical issues, communicate clearly, and ensure fault resolution.
  • Provide timely, accurate support to internal engineering teams.
  • Reproduce systems for investigations and maintain the hardware support environment.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to prioritize and communicate product issues.
  • Filter, classify, and issue technical release notes, collaborating with development teams.
  • Deploy and support the security software platform based on containerized services.
Key Attributes:
  • Excellent communication skills for delivering complex technical information.
  • Analytical mindset for fault diagnostics and process analysis.
  • Ability to work under project deadlines, managing customer expectations.
  • Strong willingness to accept ownership and responsibility.
  • Desire to build on basic cloud/DevOps/Azure knowledge.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • 2nd or 3rd line technical support experience.
  • Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Windows-based operating systems troubleshooting.
  • IT Networking knowledge.
  • Exposure to basic cloud/Azure services.
  • Database knowledge.
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies.
  • Degree in computing/software development/IT/networking or equivalent.
Beneficial Skills/Experience:
  • Awareness of the surveillance market and integrated security systems.
  • Experience in Windows Server, Enterprise Storage Platforms, Active Directory, SQL Server/IBM DB2 Admin, Virtualization, WAN/LAN networking.
  • Understanding of enterprise-scale storage solutions.
  • Cisco or other advanced networking qualifications.
  • Knowledge of Java.
  • Awareness of a DevOps working environment.
