Job Title: Support Desk EngineerLocation: Site-based with some travel (Client based in Sheffield)Contract: Permanent Full TimeSalary: £24,000 - £25,000+ DOEOverview:Our client, who provides IT support services to Businesses is looking for a Support Desk Engineer to join their established team in Sheffield. The successful candidate will provide exceptional support to their customers, covering many disciplines, including but not limited to VoIP, end user device support (predominantly Windows 10) Microsoft server support (Server 2008 onwards) Office 365 Email support, Office 365 SharePoint support.This is a full-time permanent role, which will see the Support Desk Engineer splitting their time between client headquarters in Sheffield and attending customer sites in the wider South Yorkshire area. Company vehicles will be provided and therefore the successful candidate needs to hold a full UK driving licence.This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who is in the early stages of their IT career who is looking for a supportive employer to accelerate their personal and professional development.Key Responsibilities:

  • provide 1st/2nd Line Support to customers
  • communicate within the support team clearly to resolve or pass tickets to other tiers of the support team
  • diagnosing problems with Windows, Windows Servers and Office 365
  • creating, assigning and solving tickets via the ticketing system
  • remote connection to devices to resolve issues
  • carry out customer site visits to resolve issues
  • performing routine maintenance and upgrades
  • monitoring management systems and proactively resolving issues
  • monitor system alerts (RMM, office 365 security alerts)

Sills Required:This role will suit somebody who has 1-2 years' experience in a similar IT role, potentially somebody who has recently completed an IT apprenticeship or similar. Other skills required are:

  • excellent organisational, multi-tasking skills and problem-solving skills
  • experience in support of workgroup and domain machines
  • experience of Office 365 /exchange online support
  • experience of supporting Microsoft server networks and Active Directory
  • experience with Group Policy Objects (GPO's)
  • full UK Driving Licence
