We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect with a strong background in network architecture and design to join a leading financial services organization based in Sheffield. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale projects in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring it meets current and future business needs while aligning with security, compliance, and operational excellence standards.
- Network Architecture & Design: Design and implement scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions, including WAN, LAN, VPN, and cloud networking.
- Infrastructure Strategy: Collaborate with IT leadership to define and execute the infrastructure strategy, ensuring alignment with the business's long-term goals.
- Project Leadership: Lead the technical design aspects of infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, migrations, and integration with cloud platforms.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity, applications, and operations, to ensure seamless delivery of projects.
- Technical Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise on network technologies such as SD-WAN, firewalls, load balancers, and network monitoring tools.
- Documentation: Create high-quality technical documentation, including network diagrams, architectural designs, and operational guides.
- Compliance and Security: Ensure all network designs meet regulatory requirements and adhere to best practices in security and data protection.
- Proven experience as an Infrastructure Architect with a focus on network solutions in large, complex environments.
- Expertise in designing and implementing enterprise network architectures, including cloud (AWS, Azure, or hybrid) integrations.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and security technologies (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, Fortinet).
- Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools and scripting for network management (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Experience in the financial services sector is highly desirable, with a good understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Daily Rate: Competitive, dependent on experience (inside IR35).
- Duration: Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension.
- Working Pattern: Hybrid working model 2-3 days per week on-site in Sheffield.
