Are you a passionate Design Technology Teacher with a Food Specialism? Do you have the skills to engage and inspire students in food preparation, nutrition, and culinary creativity? GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Design Technology (DT) Teacher – Food Specialism to join a thriving secondary school in Sheffield, delivering high-quality Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons.
  • Teach students about nutrition, food safety, and culinary skills.
  • Encourage creativity and independence in food preparation and presentation.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide feedback to support student progress.
  • Maintain a safe, hygienic, and well-equipped food technology classroom.
  • Inspire students to develop a passion for healthy eating and food science.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the DT curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Specialism in Food Technology within the Design Technology curriculum.
  • Experience teaching Key Stages 3 & 4 in a secondary school setting.
  • A passion for teaching, cooking, and student development.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
