Job Summary

Material testing Planner responsible for the co-ordination of test sample/result progress in line with material delivery schedules. This will include test order/specification entry onto the laboratory integrated management system through to certification and daily liaison with both internal and external customers on progress.

Main Duties and Responsibilities • Prioritise test programming and create programmes for testing

• Expedite tests through the laboratory

• Liaise with production or external customers on progress of tests and changing demand

• Monitor schedule adherence against plan and escalate any anomalies including excessive delays

• Attend daily product meetings • Control of laboratory production plans • Add new and update specifications on the Laboratory Integrated Management System

• Management of sub-contracted operations including review and approval of sub-contract reports

• Collation of test results and entry into the Laboratory Integrated Management System • Generation of test reports and export to customer • Use of Excel to create production deposition/bar charts. • Accountability for housekeeping standards and other established working standards. • Involvement with key continuous improvement activities and project work.

Experience in planning. • Previous experience in a test laboratory would be advantageous • Operational understanding of mechanical, metallurgical and/ or chemical testing

Demonstrable • Knowledge of computer input of data • Proficient use of all Microsoft packages • Good standard of numeracy and literacy Qualities & Attributes • Ability to work within a team and share knowledge •
