The Mechanical Assembly Fitter is responsible for building complex mechanical assemblies, including prototypes and low-volume rotor magnetic assemblies. Key Responsibilities:

Assembly Work:

Build complex mechanical assemblies, including prototypes and low-volume rotor magnetic assemblies.

Work with strong magnets and other specialised components, ensuring precise and accurate assembly.

Problem Solving:

Use engineering knowledge and practical skills to solve difficult problems that arise during the assembly process.

Think outside the box to develop solutions for new and complex assembly challenges.

General Machining:

Perform general machining work as needed, tailored to the requirements of each assembly.

Ensure all machining is done to high standards of quality and precision.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with production engineers and other team members to ensure smooth and efficient assembly processes.

Communicate effectively with colleagues to share knowledge and resolve issues promptly.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure all assemblies meet company quality standards and specifications.

Conduct thorough inspections and tests to verify the integrity and functionality of completed assemblies.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a mechanical fitter or in a similar role.
  • Strong background in mechanical fitting, engineering, and machining.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome complex challenges.
  • Practical intelligence and good hand skills for precise and detailed assembly work.
  • Ability to work with strong magnets and other specialised components safely and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and mechanical systems.
