Position Overview: Mechanical Fitter
Our client, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter with experience in hydraulics to join their team. This is a temporary role with the potential for permanent placement after 12 weeks. The position is based in Sheffield, and we are particularly interested in candidates from the local area.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble and fit mechanical components to commercial vehicles, ensuring high standards of quality and accuracy.
Install and maintain hydraulic systems, including pumps, cylinders, and hoses, to ensure optimal performance of the vehicle builds.
Perform mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and maintenance on vehicle systems.
Work with technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to complete installations and modifications.
Collaborate closely with the production team to meet customer specifications and production deadlines.
Test and inspect vehicle systems to verify functionality, making adjustments as necessary.

Competitive hourly rate (DOE): £12.50 - £16 per hour (DOE)
Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Paid breaks
Overtime available (weekdays & weekends, optional)

What We're Looking For:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally within commercial vehicle or heavy equipment sectors
Strong experience with hydraulic systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Previous experience working on vehicle builds or commercial vehicle modifications is highly desirable
A positive, team-oriented attitude and a strong work ethic
A UK Driver's Licence is essential; an HGV Licence would be an added advantage
