Elevation are working on behalf of a Sheffield based manufacturer to recruit an on site / off site Mechanical Fitter
Role: Offsite Mechanical Fitter
Hourly Rate: £17.16 plus enhanced rates for offsite work Location: Sheffield Based with UK and Overseas travel Shift Pattern: Monday – Thursday 06:30 – 16:15
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems and equipment offsite
- Carry out routine maintenance, fault finding, and repairs
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Use a range of hand and power tools to build and repair mechanical components
- Conduct inspections and suggest corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations when working offsite
- Liaise with engineers, technicians, and site teams
- Maintain detailed records of all work carried out
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in processes and quality
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar
- Strong mechanical knowledge, including fitting and assembly
- Ability to confidently read and work from technical drawings
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
- Great attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar mechanical fitting role
- Ability to travel overseas without restriction
