Lead Quality Inspector

Elevation Recruitment Group are currently partnered with a heavy manufacturer in Sheffield who are looking for a Lead Quality Inspector to join the business. Turning over £15 million, the business produce high-quality metal based products for a range of industries including rail and power generation. 

This role will be days only Monday-Friday and will supervise a team of 4 Quality Inspectors.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

• Perform Inspections across all products 
• Assist and oversee NDT inspection (MPI, UT, Visual)
• Dimensional Inspection / Mark Out of castings / forgings for, and after machining, to ensure conformance to design.
• Inspect products using traditional inspection equipment such as Micrometers, Verniers, etc.
• Liaise with  colleagues to ensure that items for inspection are correctly identified and safely located.
• Produce Mark Out & As Built reports.
• Assist with the preparation of documents to meet customer requirements.
• Oversee a team of 4 Quality Inspectors 
• Assist with training/mentoring of new starters and apprentices
• Containment of NCRs, investigation and corrective actions

• Experienced Quality Inspector in castings/forgings
• NDT Quals - MPI/UT/Visual desireable
• Previous experience supervising a team 
• Strong communication
