Senior / Principal Town Planner

We are working with a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy, offering an exciting opportunity for talented and ambitious Senior and Principal Town Planners to join their successful and growing teams in Manchester and Sheffield.
The Role
As part of a dynamic and progressive planning team, you will play a key role in delivering major infrastructure and development projects across various sectors, working with clients including National Highways, Homes England, HS2, local authorities, private developers, and more.
This is an opportunity to work with one of the UK's leading planning consultancies, recognised for its innovative approach to sustainable infrastructure and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading on planning projects across multiple sectors, ensuring high-quality delivery.
- Acting as a lead consultant on multi-disciplinary projects, managing stakeholders and project timelines.
- Supporting business growth through bid preparation, tender submissions, and framework responses.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior planners.
- Engaging with clients and stakeholders, maintaining and building strong relationships.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- A degree in Town Planning or a related field, with RTPI membership (or working towards it).
- Proven experience working within a consultancy, developer, or local authority environment.
- Strong knowledge of TCPA, DCO, and EIA processes.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively.
- A proactive and driven approach, with a keen interest in sustainable planning and infrastructure.
