Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive - Debt RecoverySheffield | £28,000 - £45,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Are you a skilled legal professional with experience in debt recovery and defended claims? We are working with a well-established organisation in the financial and legal sector, currently seeking a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join their growing team in Sheffield.

The Role:

As part of this dynamic legal team, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing a defended caseload through a case management system.
  • Assessing high-value or complex pre-legal debts for potential legal action.
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and court bundles for small claims, fast track, and multi-track cases.
  • Advising clients on legal matters, recovery prospects, and dispute resolution strategies.
  • Collaborating with courts, enforcement agencies, and other suppliers to ensure a high standard of service.
  • Handling insolvency actions such as bankruptcy and winding-up petitions.
  • Managing return of goods claims and other related legal proceedings.

The Ideal Candidate:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A law degree (or equivalent legal qualifications) and be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Experience in handling a defended caseload on the Small Claims Track (preferred).
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to adapt to new systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a solution-focused approach.
  • Confidence in making and receiving telephone calls to liaise with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work towards targets and earn performance-based bonuses.

Location & Working Hours:

Sheffield - Office-Based (Hybrid potential after 6 months)Full-Time, Permanent - 37.5 hours/week (Monday - Friday)
