GSL Education is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Lead to support students in a non-classroom setting within Sheffield. This role is ideal for individuals who are experienced in managing challenging behaviours and promoting students' emotional well-being.

Since our inception in 2000, we have been working tirelessly to support schools through tailored tuition programmes, partnerships with the Institute of Education, and creative initiatives designed to inspire and engage learners from all backgrounds.

  Responsibilities:
  • Pastoral Support: Provide pastoral care to students across all key stages, supporting their emotional, social, and academic development outside the traditional classroom setting.
  • Mentoring: Build positive relationships with students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and personal growth.
  • Promoting Well-Being: Develop and implement interventions to support students’ mental health and well-being, creating a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to identify and address specific needs, contributing to individual support plans for students.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track students' emotional and academic progress, providing regular updates to teachers and parents to support development.
  • Creating a Positive Environment: Help students develop self-regulation skills, social interactions, and a sense of belonging within the school community.
  Requirements:
  • Proven experience working with students displaying challenging behaviours, SEMH, or SEN in either a school or alternative provision setting.
  • Empathy, resilience, and the ability to adapt to the individual needs of students.
  • Strong communication skills to work with students, staff, and families.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and monitor individual behaviour plans.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection in an educational context.
