Elevation are working with a fantastic manufacturing business based in Sheffield to support the growth of their Technical Team with a Process Improvement Engineer.Â
As a Process Improvement Engineer you will oversee the CNC technical activities within the plant. You will support production staff with day to day manufacturing processes, assist in solving technical issues, and help with CNC programming, troubleshooting, and training. Your role will also involve working on improvement projects for both new and existing equipment to optimise processes. Safety is a priority, and you will play a part in promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
As the Process Improvement Engineer, you will:
- Manage CNC technical activities across turning centres and machining centres.
- Assist with programming, fault-finding, and resolving CNC-related issues.
- Provide training and development to production staff to enhance their skills and efficiency.
- Coordinate improvement projects for new equipment and replace existing methods to improve performance.
- Continuously optimise CNC processes to reduce waste and improve production efficiency.
- Help plan production processes and sequencing for greater efficiency.
- Maintain and manage tooling stocks, including ordering and distributing tools.
- Research and introduce new tooling techniques and equipment to improve performance and reduce costs.
- Work with production teams to solve day-to-day operational issues.
- Support the introduction of new CNC machines and equipment.
- Lead production engineering projects and activities.
- Contribute to SQDCIP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, People) and DCI (Direct Cost Improvement) actions and projects.
