Sonic Summary

info
  • A Sheffield-based company in the renewable energy sector is seeking a paralegal with experience in legal compliance issues, particularly Know Your Client (KYC) and risk assessments.
  • The ideal candidate should have experience in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts and will play a significant role in two projects, including the novation of contracts from a foreign subsidiary.
  • This in-house position is suitable for candidates with a background in private practice looking to transition to an in-house legal environment.
  • The role is expected to last 12 months with a strong possibility of extension or becoming permanent, given the company's recent growth.
  • Candidates should have salary expectations around £30,000 per annum and will work a hybrid schedule, with three days in the Sheffield office and two days remote.

I am working closely with a Sheffield-based company who are one of the leading names in the renewable energy sector. There is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal with demonstrable experience of handling legal compliance issues (Know Your Client - KYC and risk assessments) in addition to experience with drafting and reviewing commercial contracts.

My client is looking for a candidate who will have a major role to play across two projects, one of which will be focused on the novation of commercial contracts from a foreign subsidiary company and the other which will see the successful candidate become part of an already busy wider legal compliance team. This will require a paralegal who has had exposure to reviewing and drafting commercial contracts but who can also more prominently evidence quality legal compliance experience. Although this is an in-house role, my client would be keen to see applications from candidates who have worked in established private practice firms who might be looking for an opportunity to get exposure working in an in-house legal environment.

This opportunity is expected to last for 12 months but is very likely to be extended further and turn into a permanent position given the recent expansion and growth that my client has experienced in the last 3-4 years.

Candidates with salary expectations at or around £30,000 per annum will be of particular interest to my client. Hybrid working is available for this role and my client will expect the successful candidate to work 3 days a week in their Sheffield office with the remaining 2 days working remotely (there can be flexibility on this depending on the experience a candidate can bring to the role / once the successful candidate has settled into the position).
