Elevation Recruitment Group are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Rolling Stock Engineering Manager to join our client's team based in Sheffield.

Salary: up to £55k, dependent on experience

Hours: 37 hours per week

The successful candidate will support the Rolling Stock Engineering Manager in overseeing the rolling stock and plant maintenance service. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Deputy Rolling Stock Engineering Manager responsibilities will include:

  • Actively lead Kaizen activities within the rolling stock section to improve fleet reliability and performance
  • Identify and manage engineering staff development and training requirements
  • Ensure all rolling stock maintenance and repairs are carried out to the highest standards
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to optimize fleet performance
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

We are keen to speak with Deputy Rolling Stock Engineering Managers with the following:

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline, or a related field
  • Extensive experience in rolling stock engineering, maintenance, and management
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations
