Cedar are supporting a Public Sector client based in Sheffield who are looking to hire a Head of Procurement. This is permanent job opportunity offering a salary ranged from £60,000 up to £78,000 per annum plus a range of benefits including c40 days annual leave and a generous pension scheme. This role will operate on a hybrid working basis with the expectation to be on-site 2 days per week with the remaining days allowing you to work from home if required.

The successful candidate will work be directly responsible for line managing 3 individuals but overall lead a team of c20 professionals across the Procurement and Finance department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the procurement strategy and contribute to the delivery of sustainability strategies and goals. The successful candidate will lead the full end to end procurement process and procure to pay operations and ensure through best practice that value for money and financial savings can be achieved.

Candidates applying MUST HAVE:

  • Strong background working in the UK Public Sector marketplace in roles covering Procurement, Category and/or Commercial Management
  • Strong experience running compliant end-to-end Procurements with a track record of delivering value for money and savings
  • Experience managing a Procurement team (experience managing a procure to pay function would be advantageous)
  • Experience creating and implementing a Procurement strategy
  • Understanding of the upcoming changes within Public Sector Procurement Regulations
  • Ideally MCIPS qualified or working towards would be advantageous
