Rail Development Manager Summary:

As a Rail Development Manager, you will lead and manage the Rail team of two, overseeing a budget of £175,000. Your primary responsibility will be to maximise the benefits of the South Yorkshire rail network by developing and coordinating activities across the client. You will act as a key stakeholder to all regional Train Operating Companies (TOCs), ensuring their plans align with the clients ambitions and deliver the best possible outcomes for their customers. You will champion accessibility and community needs, encouraging rail use among under-represented groups.

Your role is crucial in implementing local policies across the South Yorkshire region to ensure rail services enable passengers to connect with essential services such as work, education, healthcare, and leisure. You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders, including TOCs, Transport for the North (TfN), and Rail North Committee, to represent South Yorkshire's requirements. Additionally, you will support the continual improvement of the customer experience on trains and at the 29 stations in South Yorkshire, protect timetables, lobby for improvements in connectivity and capacity, and oversee local policies and projects.
