Mechanical Design Engineer

Relocate to beautiful rural Wales and lead our growing, well established design office as our Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. Help develop our skilled team of design engineers whilst taking ownership of large mechanical design projects for capital equipment / special purpose machinery to the paint, pharmaceutical, chemical, personal care and food manufacturing sectors.   BASIC SALARY: Up to £55,000   BENEFITS:· Hybrid / Flexible working offered · Good holiday package · Access to company benefits scheme after a qualifying period   LOCATION: Llandrindod Wells, Powys   COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: Relocate to central Wales to be commutable to our Powys site.   WHY SHOULD I APPLY?· House prices are lower and quality of life is much higher in this part of the world (rural Wales). · Take ownership of large special purpose machinery / capital equipment project from cradle to grave for clients across the UK · Guide, mentor and perhaps manage our team of skilled, enthusiastic Engineers who want to learn. · Flexible / hybrid working options - some of our Engineers now work normal hours in a 4 day week.   JOB DESCRIPTION: Mechanical Design Engineer - Industrial Capital Equipment Machinery   As our Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be running the design office and leading new product development for a manufacturer of capital equipment projects for the paint, pharmaceutical, chemical, personal care and food manufacturing sectors. Typically running one main capital equipment project at a time (from £50k - £400k) and supporting several others at various stages.   · 3D and 2D mechanical design on projects from conception to delivery.   · Creation of drawings for internal and sub-contracted manufacturing. · We use SolidWorks, but a good understanding of a similar package will suffice.   · Completion of BOM's & technical documentation.   PERSON SPECIFICATION: Mechanical Design Engineer - Industrial Capital Equipment Machinery   · An experienced, mechanically biased Design Engineer. · You're a problem solver with a desire to mentor a design engineering team. · Happy and keen to relocate near our central Wales location (Powys).   The ideal candidate will have exposure to the packaging and process machinery sector, but anything related to mechanical sub-assemblies, materials handling, industrial capital equipment or automotive (for instance) would also be a match.   THE COMPANY:  Well respected, and established designer, manufacturer and supplier of capital equipment projects across several sectors.   It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services:  Mechanical Design Engineer, Design Manager, R&D Engineer, Engineering Manager - Solidworks, AutoCAD, 3D Design, 2D Design, Special Purpose Machinery, Industrial Capital Equipment, packaging machinery, Process Equipment, Automate UK, PPMA   INTERESTED?
