Elevation Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a bespoke manufacturer to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team based in Sheffield.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be accountable for maintaining, servicing and contributing to continuous improvement of the plant machinery (including CNC machinery) (planned / breakdown).

Salary: £40,500

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm and 8am-4pm on rotation

Other duties of the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will include: 

  • Work to the company's Safety, Health, Environmental policy, associated standards and procedures
  • Providing first line maintenance/breakdown
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks
  • Facilitate lean ways of working to minimise waste and maximise efficiency
  • Leading, coaching and developing other employees
  • Practise continuous improvement, innovation and pro-activeness for improved ways of working
  • Ensure that all parts required are booked out correctly

We are keen to speak with Mechanical Maintenance Engineers with the following:

  • Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering/ apprentice trained/ time served 
  • Good understanding and hands on experience with hydraulic control systems
  • Proven mechanical experience in a medium to heavy manufacturing environment
  • Good fault finding and problem solving skills
  • Good knowledge of continuous improvement programmes, particularly planned maintenance activities
  • Experience working with CNC machinery (preferable)
