Elevation Recruiting are working with a specialist manufacturing business in their search for a Mechatronics Engineer to design and implement electro-mechanical solutions for customer projects. This role involves developing robust, functional systems that address intricate robotic and electro-mechanical challenges. The position encompasses concept development, detailed design, prototyping, and delivery of industrial-grade solutions. Additionally, the role provides technical support to sales and quoting processes, ensuring feasibility and risk assessments for proposed projects.Mechatronics Engineer Key Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Deliver high-quality electro-mechanical design solutions that meet customer specifications and business performance requirements, collaborating directly with customers and their engineering teams.
  • Write robust, maintainable code for robotic and automation control systems to achieve desired behaviors within delivered solutions.
  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, from system specification and prototyping to manufacturing, testing, installation, and on-site commissioning.
  • Produce technical documentation, including drawings, calculations, specifications, and performance or failure investigation reports.
  • Assist in or oversee the manufacturing and assembly of designed solutions, ensuring quality and safety standards are upheld.
  • Support sales and business development teams by evaluating technical requirements, timeframes, and risks for new project proposals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to share expertise in electro-mechanical design.
  • Design and validate automation safety systems to comply with legal and customer-specific requirements.
  • Foster personal knowledge growth and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to drive business innovation.
  • Mentor other engineers in the fields of mechatronics and automation, when applicable.
  • Provide regular project status updates to senior management
  • A relevant engineering degree is essential.

Experience and Skills:

  • Proven track record in delivering electro-mechanical and electro-pneumatic systems, from inquiry to installation, while engaging with customers and stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience with CAD systems, preferably NX.
  • Expertise in designing advanced electromechanical systems for industrial automation, including programming for microcontrollers, PLCs, and industrial PCs.
  • Proficiency in researching, selecting, and integrating sensors, actuators, and communication technologies to solve complex problems.
  • Skilled in developing control algorithms for electro-mechanical or pneumatic devices using signal processing principles.
  • Experience with system testing, validation, and documentation (e.g., CE marking, SOPs).
  • Knowledge of safety automation systems, including experience designing solutions compliant with Safety Integrity Levels and safety categories.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages such as Python, C++, or JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and initiative in challenging scenarios.
  • Practical experience in manufacturing or assembly processes.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively contributing to a collaborative, high-performance team.
