Mayflower Engineering Limited is a market leading, well established Sheffield based company, specialising in the design and manufacture of a diverse range of medium to heavy mechanical engineering projects and products within a variety of market sectors.
Due to further expansion, we have an opening for a permanent Sales/Key Accounts Professional with a demonstrable track record in the development of new business sales in the very wide and diverse field of Mechanical Engineering. It would be expected that the candidate be from a sales background and be target driven. It would be advantageous for the candidate to have mechanical engineering experience or a mechanical engineering qualification.
This is a mainly an office-based role concentrating on generating leads and developing customer relations.
Job Role:
- Identify leads and target relevant Companies.
- Develop prospects from qualified leads.
- Engage with the prospect Company to identify needs and opportunities.
- Secure enquiries for suitable contracts.
- Follow-up on submitted proposals and quotations to prospects.
- Negotiate and resolve any objections to the submitted proposal/quotation.
- Convert proposals and quotations to orders.
- Ensure the CRM system is utilised and updated to maximise sales opportunities.
- Maintain customer relationships to build repeat business.
Ideal experience:
- Ability to drive sales and build strong client relationships
- Generating leads and identifying target contacts
- Strong prospecting and sales experience
- Track record of selling into relevant sectors
- Experience of selling bespoke/high volume contracts
- Experience of negotiating contracts.

- Ambitious, credible and technically minded
- Excellent organisational and presentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Comfortable dealing with customers and prospects at all levels
