The Role:

Our client is looking to recruit a highly organised and experienced Mechanical Section Engineer to ensure mechanical engineering management and standards are maintained. Planned Maintenance activities, Safe Working Practices and documents are developed, reviewed, and carried out to ensure that the plant meets all appropriate industry safety standards. Development and modernisation of the plant to ensure availability, reliability and performance targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The design, development, and maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment to improve plant operation and reliability.
  • To continually develop planned and preventative maintenance systems including the creation of schedules and routines for shift-based teams to complete
  • Planning and co-ordinating electrical engineering operations during plant shutdowns inclusive of major maintenance activities.
  • Contributing to annual and progressive plans for electrical maintenance budget control.
  • Lead fault investigations for repeatable delays and failures and define engineering solutions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for all failures, use in-depth knowledge to solve difficult engineering failures.
  • Negotiating and managing key electrical maintenance contracts.
  • Liaising with external suppliers and contractors to provide solutions to production and engineering challenges.
  • Accountable for budgeting, forecasting, and receiving competitive quotes for all work to be undertaken.
  • Development of plant to improve performance and reliability.
  • Providing the necessary documentation to cover all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Control inclusive of Permit Systems, Safe Working Procedures, Isolation/Immobilisation and Environmental Management Systems etc.
  • Providing a second-line maintenance service for plant breakdowns.
  • Any reasonable management request.
