A rapidly expanding specialist in industrial automation have created a role for a Mechanical Technician to join their friendly team of Engineers, based in Sheffield (S9).

The Mechanical Technician will work from engineering drawings and build state of the art robotic systems involved in manufacturing for the aerospace industry. A good level of machining skills, using mills and lathes as well as workshop tasks like drilling, tapping and grinding are also required.

The ideal applicant will be a proficient problem solver who is able to identify the root causes of mechanical faults and provide appropriate solutions. You will also be willing to travel to help install systems at client sites.

Key requirements for Mechanical Technician

  • Qualified to HNC level in a mechanical engineering course, or apprentice trained
  • Confident in reading and understanding technical drawings
  • Ability to rapidly learn new technology
  • Ability to identify root causes of mechanical faults
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and able to regularly travel to customer sites
  • Ability to obtain vetted security clearance/DBS checks
