Technical Manager, Sheffield, South Yorkshire

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Manager to join a growing privately owned housing developer, based in the Sheffield area of South Yorkshire. The business has been founded a few years ago on the solid foundations of a larger group of companies. Offering a robust platform to develop multi-million housing schemes. The business focus is a sustainable plan, to undertake 4 to 5 developments concurrently of 5m to 15m in value.


This role would suit either an existing Technical Manager or Technical Co-ordinator aspiring for the next step in their career. The opportunity and challenge, lies in this a new role, currently undertaken by one of the Directors. To develop the role and grow the department over time. The opportunity to progress as the company does, is a natural one

Reporting to the Director your responsibilities will include but limited to:

  • Design process involving the management of consultants
  • Sound working knowledge of the Highways & Drainage Regulations and Building Regulations
  • Management of design input from other external parties
  • Liaison with the relevant statutory and local authorities
  • Liaison with Clients and Client's representatives
  • Demonstrate an excellent base level of technical knowledge
  • Planning, and dealing with both Private and Affordable Housing clients
  • Strong knowledge of the residential development sector; completion of site appraisals, design guidance, preparation of specifications, NHBC regulations and planning guidance and policy
  • Feedback on construction detailing, checking consultant and sub-contractors designs and compliance with statutory guidelines
