This role is ideal for those passionate about supporting students’ social and emotional development while helping to foster a positive and productive learning environment.

Job Summary:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students and staff to support and improve behaviour management within the school. Your role will involve implementing behaviour strategies, providing individual and group support, and contributing to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all students.

Behaviour Mentor Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support behaviour management strategies under the guidance of the school's leadership team.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students facing behavioural challenges, helping them develop positive behaviour patterns.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor and assess student behaviour and progress.
  • Create and maintain a supportive and inclusive environment that promotes positive behaviour.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of behaviour improvement plans and interventions.
  • Support the implementation of the school’s behaviour management policies and contribute to a positive school culture.
  • Engage with parents and guardians to provide updates and collaborate on behaviour improvement strategies.

Essential Requirements for Behaviour Mentor:

  • Experience or a background in supporting students with behavioural needs is preferred but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and commitment to their social and emotional development.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Enthusiasm and a proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting student development.
  • A keen interest in pursuing a career in education or student support.
  • An up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
