We are seeking Low Carbon Advisors to join a small team of Business Consultants to support the UKSPF Low Carbon project. This initiative, supported by the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and part-funded by the UK Government, aims to assist SMEs in Sheffield in identifying and implementing carbon-saving opportunities. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant environmental and economic impacts within the local business community.
Day-to-Day of the Role:- Engage with SMEs to verify eligibility and conduct a diagnostic of their premises and operations to identify potential energy-saving improvements.
- Refer suitable SMEs for an Energy Audit, specifying up to three priority areas for focus, and support them through the process.
- Prepare Energy Recommendations Reports, documenting potential energy savings and assisting SMEs in developing grant applications for implementing these measures.
- Provide comprehensive support to SMEs, including signposting to other sources of support and ensuring compliance with public procurement regulations.
- Work collaboratively with Business Sheffield and be a core part of the Low Carbon project delivery team, contributing to the strategy and implementation of project activities.
- Demonstrable knowledge of low carbon initiatives applicable to SMEs.
- Proven experience working with businesses across different sectors and delivering tangible results in energy efficiency or related fields.
- Independence in consultancy, not tied to any specific products or energy suppliers.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including SMEs, project teams, and external consultants.
- Experience in preparing detailed reports and grant applications, with a keen eye for ensuring all regulatory and procedural requirements are met.
- Competitive daily rate of approximately £400.
