Key Responsibilities:

As a Cover Supervisor (CS), your role will include:

  • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain engaged and on task.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
  • Support students in their learning and aid as needed.
  • Monitor and record students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.

What We’re Looking For:

To thrive in this Cover Supervisor (CS) position, you’ll need:

  • A proactive and confident approach to managing groups of students.
  • Strong behaviour management skills to keep classrooms on track.
  • Solid Maths and English skills (essential).
  • A genuine interest in supporting students and enhancing their learning.
  • Previous experience in a classroom or similar environment is helpful but not required.

Mandatory information:

  • The successful candidate must hold PGCE in the relevant subject with Qualified Teaching Status (QTS), or equivalent certification.
  • Be able to provide a ten-year career history with relevant reference details covering the last two years, including your most recent place of academic employment.
