Home Ownership Service Officer

We are seeking a Home Ownership Service Officer to join our dedicated Home Ownership and Revenues Unit. This role is integral in delivering high-quality, customer-focused services across various areas including Right-to-Buy, Leasehold Management, Revenues and Collections, and Business Management. The ideal candidate will have a strong emphasis on quality, customer care, consultation, and teamwork.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist the Team Leader in implementing Council policies affecting the Unit.
  • Deliver exceptional service to customers and service users, focusing on quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of service procedures and best practices.
  • Supervise and support the Senior Home Ownership Assistants and Home Ownership Assistants.
  • Ensure effective processing of Right to Buy applications and manage related performance metrics.
  • Maintain and update a database of leaseholder properties, manage service charges, and engage in leaseholder consultations.
  • Coordinate the collection of various charges and manage sundry debtor accounts to maximize revenue.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with service partners, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Undertake administrative tasks and ensure adherence to Council policies across various business functions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven financial and administrative skills relevant to the role.
  • Previous supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Strong ability to work independently and take responsibility.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to produce effective reports.
  • Proficient in interpersonal communication, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Creative thinker with good decision-making skills.
  • Flexible approach to work and a commitment to providing high-quality services.
  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, or able to demonstrate competencies required for the role.
