As a Humanities Teacher, you will have the opportunity to inspire students, bringing history and geography to life through interactive and thought-provoking lessons. You will play a key role in fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning in your students.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging Geography and/or History lessons for KS3 and KS4.
- Create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that supports student development.
- Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress.
- Encourage students to think critically, develop research skills, and engage with historical and geographical concepts.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the Humanities curriculum.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement in line with school policies.
Requirements:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- PGCE with a specialist in Geography or History (or relevant subject experience).
- Experience teaching Humanities at the secondary level (KS3 & KS4).
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students.
- A passion for Humanities and a commitment to inspiring young learners.
- ECTs are welcome to apply—full support and mentorship are provided.
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
