Primary Year 6 Teacher
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP
Daily Rate: £140 – £160
GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join one of our esteemed primary schools in Sheffield. This full-time position is available to start immediately and encourages Early Career Teachers to apply confidently.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished Key Stage 2 practitioner with a strong grasp of the Year 6 curriculum, having keen interest in working with young pupils, creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports their growth and development.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons tailored to Year 6 students.
- Implement assessment strategies to track progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
- Differentiate learning activities to meet the diverse needs of all pupils, including those with SEND or EAL.
- Collaborate with colleagues, teaching assistants, and senior leadership to support student development.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, maintaining open and proactive communication.
- Participate in school activities, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6, would be added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 national curriculum in terms of planning and delivering lessons.
- Ability to differentiate lessons effectively to support varying abilities.
- A commitment to high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour strategies.
- A Child Workforce Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one. DBS sponsorship is available on conditional basis!
