We are seeking on behalf of our client skilled Plasterers to join our Disrepair Team within the Social Housing sector in Sheffield. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality plastering repairs and maintenance in tenanted and void properties to ensure homes meet required standards. This role is crucial in improving the living conditions of residents and ensuring compliance with legal obligations related to housing disrepair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all aspects of plastering, including skimming, rendering, dry lining, and patch repairs in response to disrepair claims.

  • Work in occupied and void properties to complete high-standard plastering works with minimal disruption to tenants.

  • Identify and assess plastering-related disrepair issues and ensure they are resolved effectively.

  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and organizational policies.

  • Work collaboratively with other tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, plumbers, electricians) to complete repairs efficiently.

  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any additional repair needs.

  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate professionally with tenants and colleagues.

  • Ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are used and maintained safely.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Plasterer in a social housing, construction, or maintenance setting.

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plastering or equivalent qualification.

  • Ability to carry out various plastering techniques, including float and set, bonding, skimming, and rendering.

  • Strong understanding of housing disrepair obligations and maintenance procedures.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working within a social housing environment.

  • Multi-trade experience (e.g., tiling, basic carpentry) would be advantageous.

  • Asbestos awareness and knowledge of health and safety best practices.
