Elevation Recruitment Group are currently recruiting a Technical Services Manager for a growing business in Sheffield in the FMCG sector. The business have seen consistent growth and supply organic and sustainable products to an array of customers. This role is to oversee and maintain a robust quality assurance program, ensuring product safety, legality and consistent exceedance of customer expectations. The success candidate will be instrumental in supplier and product evaluation, meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders, streamlining product launches, and driving overall customer satisfaction.

As Technical Services Manager, duties & responsibilities: 

  • Maintain a full, product risk assessment of each product and supply chain, considering known, emerging, and potential issues.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact and approver for our suppliers of food ingredients, components, or finished goods, and related service providers.
  • Build strong supplier relationships, ensuring quality and safety standards.
  • Create and maintain accurate product specifications.
  • Manage customer documentation, and packaging waste compliance
  • Stay updated on food safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with labelling, nutritional, allergen requirements, and manage regulatory approvals.
  • Conduct internal audits and supplier assessments to maintain compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve product quality issues and complaints.
  • Establish and maintain a robust food safety management system in compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., Food Information Regulation, Food Allergens) and industry standards (BRCGS, GFSI, GMP, Org)
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints and issues related to product quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product safety and quality

I'm keen to speak to Candidate's with the following skillset:

  • Degree/HND level or equivalent in food science, food technology or related subject OR experience working in a food industry technical or QA Role
  • Qualifications including Food Hygiene, HACCP, Food Safety etc. are all desirable
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
