Head of Commercial (Commercial & Finance)

Akkodis are currently working in partnership with a leading service provider to recruit a Head of Commercial with a strong financial acumen to lead on the expansion strategy for the organisation. This will be a senior leadership role where you will lead an experienced team in securing new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships and expand the client base in line with growth plans.

Please note this role offers hybrid working alongside a highly competitive renumeration package.

The Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to expand the company's market share and revenues.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including potential clients, industry partners, and decision-makers.
  • Commission market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and growth opportunities.
  • Monitor and review progress of key commercial activities and results, and adapt as necessary to ensure focussed, cost-effective initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions and proposals that meet the needs of clients.
  • Lead negotiations and contract discussions to secure new business deals and partnerships.
  • Create and implement a sustainable business model for long term growth of the organisation.
  • Lead and develop the Finance team to deliver first class business partnering across all functions to achieve the 3-year plan.
  • Act as trusted business partner to the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team, supporting decision-making and acting as a sounding board.
  • Translate financial and non-financial metrics into actionable operating plans to support key stakeholders in driving the business forward.
  • Work cross functionally to identify and assess new market opportunities, ensuring that they will deliver sufficient return relative to their commercial risk.
  • Drive the strategic plan and budgeting processes, working with the Leadership Team to develop and deliver the business plan and annual budget targets.
  • Ensure the business is always 'consciously in control' of what it is doing and focuses on margin and cost management.
  • Ensure the Finance team deliver timely and accurate monthly accounts and other management reporting information as required.
  • Continuously develop and enhance financial reporting including sales pipeline and key performance indicators.

The Requirements

  • Experience in Commercial Finance, with a focus on leadership, continuous improvement and change management.
  • Results driven, with demonstrable experience of delivering process improvement and initiating and delivering business change.
  • Able to conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision making and identify key business drivers.
  • Operated at a senior level within both Commercial and Finance environments.
  • CIMA or ACCA qualifications highly desirable
  • Experience of implementing commercial strategies based on systematic financial analysis and rigour and industry knowledge.
