We’re growing as a business and that only means one thing - we need more people! Is having the opportunity to work with a supportive manager, who values your input, something you’ve always been looking for?
We’d like a Quality Engineer to join our team and you must be able to hit the ground running.
We’re Independent Forgings and Alloys (IFA) and we’re unique in the heavy engineering world, but don’t just take our word for it because we’re trying to impress you - google us! We have a very clear vision of 'Success Through Integrity’ and we’re wanting you to be a part of that too.
Day to day you’re going to be a point of contact for quality across the business and a key player in meeting business KPI’s. A lot of your role will centre around continuous improvement, with reviewing and updating or implementing changes, giving you an opportunity to take some real pride in your work, for example;
- Manage and improve the Non-Conformance register and maintain low NCR dwell time.
- Instigate and participate in root cause analysis, using tools such as; 3C’s, 5WHY’s and 8D’s.
- You’ll assist in maintaining Nadcap and our customer accreditations.
- Perform internal audits as well as quality spot checks of in-progress work.
- Data handling and analysis for use both internally and externally.
The Quality Manager and I have had a chat and listed below are some real essentials when considering whether to apply or not:
- Experience of quality systems (preferably ISO9001, AS9100, AS13100, Nadcap). This is essential!
- Understand quality procedures.
- This is a role all about detail, you’ll need to be keen to make sure procedures are accurate and well observed.
- Don’t be afraid to question decisions and people - you’re quality and we all need to make sure things are done right by everyone.
- The usuals; be highly organised and have excellent communication skills with a flexible and proactive approach.
There might be some other skills our Quality Manager would like you to have, but if there are any gaps in your skills or knowledge he and others in the team will be more than happy to support you with training. We love to invest in people!
We offer all the benefits you’d expect, ranging from 33 days of holiday (including bank holidays), pension and bonus schemes, plus full company sick pay after you’ve been here a year. But, what else is in it for you? We offer additional health and wellbeing benefits, through gym access and healthcare advice, plus a few savings on shopping here and there. Dare we even mention the free tea and coffee!
If you’re fancying your chances, but you’ve not got a CV or it isn’t up to date don’t let that stop you from applying - having something to work with is better than nothing. We’ll then cross the CV bridge together if we need to. The only thing we would say is we might give you a call, so just make sure before applying your contact details are up to date.
Take a chance, click apply and good luck!
