Due to a continued business growth and invenstment, we are currently recruiting an experienced Production Manager to join a our prestigious client in Sheffield on a permanent basis.

The business are highly regarded as leaders in the design, manufacture and supply of equipment to a variety of industries including Nuclear, Oil and Gas and Power Generation.

Successful candidates will be time-served with a demonstrable background working within a similar role with a strong understanding of standards required within the above sectors.

Candidates will be will be responsible day to day running of the fabrication department ensuring employees work in a safe and effective way and that planned work is completed correctly and on time.

Job Description :

  • Manage the day to day running of the Fabrication Shop. Assisting with technical aspects of jobs in all disciplines when required to do so
  • Ensure all equipment required to carry out work effectively is available, and that equipment is maintained in good working order and meets with all necessary QA and H & S compliance
  • Ensure that all work areas are kept clean, tidy and well organised.
  • Ensure working procedures are followed at all times and that each job has the correct material, tooling, technical information, paperwork and that all previous operations have been signed off. Promote best method of manufacture to improve efficiencies at all times
  • To control and manage the Fabrication Shop to ensure the correct standard of work is achieved and on time deliveries are met whilst promoting a right first-time culture
  • Ensure all departmental documentation and or employment related documentation is completed on time all of the time
  • You may be expected to work at anoher site in Manchester on some occasions

Candidate Required Skills

  • Time-served with demonstrable experience in a similar lead role within a Welding / Fabrication based environment working to tight tolerances.
  • The ability to read, understand and work to engineering drawings.
  • Past experience in medium to heavy manufacturing  for industries such as Oil and Gas/ Rail/ Nuclear and Power Generation
  • Strong Man Managements Skills
  • Strong Communication skills – Both written and Verbal
