As a Project Engineer/Manager with a leading depot safety specialist in the UK, you'll play a crucial role in determining the strategic placement of cutting-edge personal protection systems that enhance safety across the rail industry.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer/Manager to join one of the UK’s leading depot safety specialists, providing personal protection systems to the rail industry.

The successful candidate will have the autonomy to make critical decisions and design solutions for the integration of safety equipment within rail depots, significantly enhancing their skills in this unique sector and gaining exposure to the majority of the rail depots across the UK.

This position is ideal for someone looking to play a vital role in a fast-growing company that makes a real impact on safety within the railway sector. You will work for a global leader in safety systems, with ample opportunities for professional development and career advancement as the company continues to expand its order book and growth plans.

Key responsibilities

  • Management of the project lifecycle
  • Provide quote support
  • Conduct depot surveys
  • Design installation plans outlining product placement and interfacing
  • Handle contract negotiation
  • Conduct project reviews
  • Create reports
  • Responsible for delivery management and subcontractor coordination
  • Culminating in factory acceptance testing and final delivery.

Candidate Essentials

  • Background in Rail Infrastructure - Signalling/Power Distribution/Control engineering.
  • Strong understanding of safety accreditations
  • Previous involvement with installation projects and how they run with a technical perspective
  • Experience within a Project Management environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate technical information

Essential Qualifications

  • Electrical/Electronic technical background. Ideally a degree but HNC can be considered

Opportunity Information

  • Location: Sheffield
  • Salary: Up to £55,000
  • Contractual hours: Monday to Friday. 1 day a week from option of WFH.
  • Travel across the UK will be required
  • Training/ induction programme as products and processes are very niche.
  • Brand new office.
