Our client, a specialist interior fit-out and refurbishment contractor, is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Sheffield. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial, hospitality, and office fit-outs, they provide a full-service approach from design through to completion, project values vary from 300k - 4million.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the commercial management of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in fit-out and refurbishment projects, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of cost management, procurement, and contract administration. This will be an office-based position with site visits as required.

Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor - Role Overview:

  • Overseeing all commercial aspects of fit-out and refurbishment projects
  • Managing cost control, procurement, and contract administration
  • Managing a team of 3 Quantity Surveyors
  • Preparing BOQs, cost plans, valuations, and final accounts
  • Leading negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure cost efficiency
  • Handling contract variations, risk management, and dispute resolution
  • Providing financial reporting and forecasting to senior management
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on budget and in line with contractual obligations
  • Mentoring and supporting junior members of the commercial team

Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor - Requirements:

  • Experience in the fit-out and refurbishment sector advantageous
  • Experience in fast paced environments
  • Open to individuals from a subcontractor, joinery or carpentry background
  • Strong understanding of procurement, cost management, and contract negotiation
  • Experience with JCT contracts and commercial reporting
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clients, suppliers, and project teams
  • Full UK driving licence
