Senior Quantity Surveyor – Sheffield – Up to £500 per day (OUTSIDE IR35) – Security Cleared
Ford & Stanley Interim are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. This role requires a highly skilled individual who can independently manage the commercial aspects of projects while providing key support to senior management.
This position is an opportunity to be part of a highly sensitive, security-cleared world-first construction project. The work involves delivering cutting-edge solutions in a high-security environment, where precision, confidentiality, and commercial expertise are paramount. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial and contractual success of this groundbreaking initiative.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in subcontracting, consultancy, and main contracting, with expertise in NEC contracts.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the commercial aspects of projects independently
- Provide senior-level QS support, including cost control and contract administration
- Assist with subcontractor management and ensure compliance with NEC contracts
- Travel to Scotland as required while being primarily based in Sheffield
- Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure financial efficiency
- Support senior management in commercial strategy and decision-making
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in quantity surveying, preferably within mechanical and electrical sectors
- SC Clearance (or the ability to obtain it)
- Extensive experience in subcontracting, consultancy, and main contractor environments
- Proven knowledge of NEC contracts and familiarity with commercial systems such as SIMA
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment
- Experience working on high-security or classified projects is highly desirable
