Optimise by Recruitment are working with a rapidly growing Waste Management company. Our client is seeking a tenacious, passionate, and positive Business Development Executive to join their team in Yorkshire. As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new accounts through various methods, including cold calling and door-to-door visits, and nurturing them using a bespoke CRM system. This role is field-based with occasional office-based sales meetings.
Working hours are typically Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00, with flexibility for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively and reactively identify new business leads through cold calling.
- Achieve and exceed monthly targets while managing your sales pipeline.
- Act as the key interface between customers and internal departments.

Utilise and update internal CRM systems and other records.
- Support the Sales Manager and colleagues with sales-related activities.
Requirements:
- Prior sales experience in the Waste Management sector is advantageous, with a proven track record of selling contracted services and meeting sales targets.
- Ability to handle rejection and work in all weather conditions.
- Proficiency in social media for prospecting online.
- Strong rapport-building and sales skills, along with confidence and persistence.
- Team player with ambition, self-motivation, and a can-do attitude.
- Willingness to go the extra mile to secure customer commitments and build lasting relationships.
