Key Account Manager/ Sales Engineer - Job Summary:

We’re supporting our client, an American multi-national manufacturer based in the West Midlands who are looking for a Key Account Manager/ Sales Engineer to join their growing team. The successful KAM/Sales Engineer will have experience of growing, nurturing and developing key customers accounts, as well as generating new business. 

The company supply into a variety of sectors including automotive, off-road vehicles, aerospace, rail and marine.

Salary:                         Circa £48K-£52K

Responsibilities for Key Account Manager/ Sales Engineer:

In this field-based sales role, travelling at least 3-4 days per week, located in the UK ideally close to the existing customer base, but with broader responsibility for developing assigned accounts across England and Wales. You will managing extensive business relationships with customers at all levels, to further drive our growth and profitability.

Focusing on key growth markets, you will use your technical, commercial and sales knowledge to sell our products offering to existing and new business. You will look for opportunities in different industries, prospecting for new business, be familiar with working with customers to develop bespoke technical, engineered solutions and solving problems, contributing to our ambitious growth targets.

About You:

  • Do you have at least 3-5 years selling experience into the manufacturing and engineering markets with extensive knowledge of cost breakdown files?
  • Are you a persuasive professional with the drive to succeed in Sales?
  • Are you willing to step up to the responsibility of managing and driving business growth in challenging customers and markets?
  • Are you a tenacious and creative problem solver?
  • Do you hold a degree in Engineering or other technical discipline?
  • Are you a resilient self-starter that can work on your own initiative?
  • Do you have experience and a proven record of success of close customer contact in a fast-moving Sales environment?
