Accounts Assistant

Location: Sheffield, S11 8HW - Office Based
Salary: Circa £30K per annum, dependent on experience + Excellent Benefits!
Contract: Full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days per week), Permanent

We are Integra (McVey) Limited, a well-established firm of accountants and business advisers in Sheffield.

We offer a wide range of services including accounting, taxation, payroll, bookkeeping, and business advice to businesses and individuals.

Our team is growing, and we are looking for a dedicated Accounts Assistant to support our Accounts and Office Manager in delivering exceptional client service throughout our business.

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining and nurturing client relationships, answering client queries, and handling client-facing tasks.

You will meet with clients both at their offices and in our own, ensuring their needs are met promptly and professionally and leaning on our Accounts Manager for support as required.

As our Accounts Assistant you will be specifically responsible for:

  • Providing support in managing client relationships, responding to queries, and maintaining high standards of communication.
  • Meeting with clients both in our office and at client locations.
  • Assisting with bookkeeping, VAT returns, and general accounting tasks as needed.
  • Supporting with the preparation of complex financial statements, interim management accounts and tax returns for businesses of varying sizes.
  • Collaborating closely with the Accounts Manager to ensure the smooth running of client accounts.

What we're looking for:

  • Ideally AAT qualified, but this is not essential.
  • Experience working in an accountancy practice or similar environment, with at least a few years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication and client service skills, with the confidence to handle client-facing responsibilities.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office setting.
  • Preference for office-based work, with flexibility for part-time or full-time hours (minimum 3 days per week).
